Carlos Vásquez has a degree in biology from the National Agrarian University of La Molina in Peru and a postgraduate degree in conservation and biodiversity management from CATIE in Costa Rica. He is a person with a vocation and commitment to nature conservation. He has more than 30 years of experience working with Amazonian and Andean communities in integrated natural resource management initiatives. First, he was a forestry and agroforestry researcher in state institutions dedicated to the development of the Amazon. He then managed integrated conservation and development initiatives from national public and private and international institutions, such as WWF, CARE, and private companies. He specializes in articulating family and community development initiatives with conservation and development projects and programs of public, private, and international cooperation institutions.
